The Klei Wine Cabinet is a modular sculpture built entirely through press fit joinery. Each joint is unique and hand sculpted, first developed as clay studies before being translated into CAD and refined as functional joinery. These sculpted connections become the structural language of the piece, allowing the cabinet to be assembled without screws or glue.
The system draws inspiration from the logic of USM Modular Furniture, while shifting it into a more expressive and tactile direction. By combining digitally fabricated components with hand formed joints, the cabinet sits somewhere between furniture system and sculpture. The result is a playful modular structure designed to hold and display wine, merging an appreciation for good design with an appreciation for vino.
