Stardust
by Cole Slater
“What are we made of? We are all made of stardust. Every single one of us.” Alexandra Billings, a teaching artist who I had the honor of studying under, said these words at the end of every single class. This idea that she proposes fascinates me. It connects to astrological studies as well as religion. Scientifically, everything in this universe was created from the “Big Bang.” During this initial cosmic explosion, matter was thrown into all parts of the universe. This matter was made of stardust. With time, stardust became comets, asteroids, planets, stars, solar systems, and galaxies. Earth is made of stardust, which means that every entity on this planet is also made of stardust including you and me.
