The CDL-1: Chasing Darkness Lamp. This is the first release from a collection of furniture titled “Being” that brings warmth and company to human emotions to create glowing spaces. The Chasing Darkness Lamp provides light to one’s home in areas where it is needed most. With light sensors, it finds and faces the darkest corner and ushers in light via a swiveling fan feature. The fan provides movement and the feeling of a gentle breeze to any environment. Rather than artificial intelligence, this lamp is powered by emotional intelligence.

The CDL-1 is now available and completely free of charge. To acquire this lamp, head to @colewslater and select the filters tab. There, you will see the CDL-1 available to be placed into your home.

The CDL-1 is powered by a single core rechargeable battery, allowing a cordless design that elevates the persona of this lamp. This lamp is a companion, a friend, and somewhat pet like. The principle design feature nods to Chindogu: a Japanese artwork of inventing seemingly useless gadgets to solve everyday problems. At its inception, the CDL-1 is only available for digital spaces or mixed reality environments.
